Mechanism of action

Bioidentical testosterone esterified for sustained release; binds androgen receptors across tissues to restore physiologic androgen signaling.

Overview

What you need to know

Testosterone cypionate is testosterone esterified with cypionic acid to slow absorption from the injection site. Once cleaved by serum esterases it is identical to endogenous testosterone. Provider-reviewed initiation requires a confirmed low testosterone baseline (total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol, hematocrit, lipids, CBC, CMP), candidacy assessment (cardiovascular history, fertility plans, prostate context), and a defined recalibration cadence. Common delivery modalities include intramuscular and subcutaneous injection.
