Is online testosterone optimization (TRT) legitimate?

Short answer

Yes — when the consultation is synchronous (live video with a licensed provider in the patient's state), prescriptions are reviewed against a baseline biomarker panel, and continuity is built into the care model. oMeds operates only on that model. 'Form-only' or text-based TRT services do not meet that standard.

Full answer

Online TRT is legitimate when three conditions are met. First, the consultation is synchronous — a live video visit with a licensed provider in the patient's state, not a one-way intake form. Second, prescribing is anchored to a baseline biomarker panel (Hormones, Lipids, CBC, CMP) and a defined recalibration cadence, not to symptom report alone. Third, continuity is part of the model — refills, dose adjustments, recalibration, and biomarker re-reads are routed through the same provider relationship rather than re-triaged at every step. oMeds is built around that model. Services that prescribe testosterone from a text or form intake without live provider review and without a biomarker baseline do not meet the standard of care for hormone optimization. State eligibility, scope-of-practice rules, and the requirement for an established provider relationship apply.

Educational. Not a substitute for individualized provider review.
