PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a synthetic melanocortin receptor agonist FDA-approved for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women and used off-label for low libido in men. Unlike PDE5 inhibitors, which act vascularly, PT-141 acts centrally on melanocortin receptors involved in sexual desire and arousal. It is typically dosed on-demand.
